just another update

Really really miss my parents right nau. I'll definitely going home next month.

There are 1100 paper cranes inside my room, all of them will join the other 24k cranes in Bandung tomorrow. And we're still folding more.

Can't think properly, I'm exhausted from all office tasks + application in-house-training + organizing cranes + lack of sleep all week long.

Lulu gave birth to 4 kitten on March 11. I wish I can keep them all, but my landlady won't be pleased to know it. They're hiding inside my room, btw.

Kepikiran lagi

Saya rupanya terlalu baik sama orang lain. Kapok ah jadi orang baik. Jadi orang jahat enak sepertinya, tak perlu capek berempati dan capek mikir kepentingan orang lain.

Yonaha Tooru - Eisa Shinka lyric

  • Jun. 14th, 2010 at 8:18 PM
I was attracted to Jagaru Seinenkai and Eguchi-ku Seinenkai because thewe two eisa teams often perform together, particularly during oorasee (or eisagaaee) in front of Chatan Union Building, Okinawa. Oorasee is like dance battle between two eisa team on the same spot, same time, but each team plays their own songs and dances. So noisy yet so fun to watch!

Yonaha Tooru is jiute, or Seinenkai's sanshin player from Eguchi-ku Seinenkai. It looks like he and Matsuda Kazutoshi have the same idea to produce modern eisa songs for their team. Matsuda Kazutoshi himself is jiute from Jagaru Seinenkai, lyric to his song titled Eisaagashiira can be accessedhere

H-1 from financial report deadline.

i made fatal mistakes when updating table consisting financial data (forgot to put the WHERE condition filter, and the changes applied to all)

kicked out all users from using finance applications, then disabled it to prevent anyone doing changes to the tables.

spent the next 2 hours trying to restore the database.

what a day... *flops*

Really tired, for the last 2 weeks my teams have been working from 8am to 10pm for various deadlines. But.. well.. it's still far better than to have nothing to work on. Can't the weekend come soon enough?

Kariyushi 58 - Ukui Uta lyrics

  • May. 4th, 2010 at 7:49 PM
My favorite song. To hear it, just search youtube using its title in kana, or romaji in Google. I'm dedicating this one to all friends who leave their hometown for work, study, etc etc.

God knows how long I've left this blog... *blows dust off LJ*

Anyway, since I almost lost the romaji document of this song, I'd better put this one online. Love the fact that Kajimaai (kobudo - sousaku taiko group from Itoman) used the kuduchi part as their dance music in Sousaku Eisa Contest last year.

Not in the mood to translate it though...

Maekawa Shuken, singer of the popular song Ashibinaa, popularized also this song about Okinawa Soba. The song came from album "Uchinaa (Okinawa) Sobaya-san no BGM", and just like what the title implies, it is used as background music in most soba restaurants there.

I got a free ticket to Indonesia - Japan Friendship Festival (see poster here) this Sunday at West Plaza, Gelora Bung Karno Senayan. Aozora Team from Unair, who won this year's Surabaya Yosakoi Festival, will appear there. Four of this team members are members of Kanzashi Cultural Club, my former yosakoi team when it was still under Jasmin name.

I've promised Udin to take pictures of his members as a return of him documented my eisa team when we performed in Surabaya several weeks ago. Then I heard the ridiculous schedule set for this team.

- Sat 20.00 : Depart from Surabaya by train
- Sun 08.00 : Arrived in Jakarta
- Sun 15:00 : Performing

WHAT?!?! It's impossible to recharge the stamina in just 7 hours after a trip like that, tsk! Ganbatte ne, Aozora chi-mu!

Anyone going to this event also? The ticket is being sold in Jakarta Japan Club, Skyline Buuilding for 40rb rupiahs. Don't ask me why they don't want to sell the tickets on Sunday ... *snerks*

Jin Jin (Fireflies) - lyric

Sometimes romanized as Jing Jing, this song actually a warabe uta or children's song. But back in 80's era, Shokichi Kina & Champloose gave this song an electro-acoustic style through mixing of various music intruments, and making the song more popular.

Dear programmer,

1. Never ever named a Stored Procedures, Function, Database Table, or View outside the standard used by your teammate.

2. Never ever create a dynamic SQL statement, particularly the one like 'SELECT * FROM' since it's really vulnerable for a web-based application.

3. Never ever wrote a SELECT * statement. Always list all the required field names.

4. Never ever stored calculations or database names in your coding. Put everything in form of Stored Procedures or Functions.

5. ALWAYS KEEPS TRACK of what Stored Procedures/Functions/Views/Tables created by others that you used.

6. My application needs to read data from different servers. Never ever assumed that it's only for ONE server, when I already told you from the start that I need to access at least TWO servers.

I don't like it when all of these bugs appeared when I tested the application under real condition environment, TWO DAYS before others use it.

ARGH!

Toshin Doi - Tenipuri Version lyric.

  • Jul. 22nd, 2008 at 12:03 PM
Toshin Doi is the most popular Okinawan folk song often used in kaachaashii or eisa dance. There are so many lyric variations of this song that it's possible for singers to sing different sets of its verses.

For example, the common verse used in Toshin Doi is "Shui ni uchinkati Nafa ni nuburu", but the tenipuri version uses "Nafa ni uchinkati Shui ni nuburu". Moreover, I don't have any idea the words used in the last verse after "kushibaru ni keriri", never heard of that ones (^^;;)

ETA : Found the 'lost' words in Acchameegwa bushi.. Is it just me who feel that, reflected in his voice, Sue sang Toshin Doi with love and pride?

Since only recently I learn uchinaguchi, do tell me if you see mistakes in romaji and/or the transliteration below. Enjoy.

Matsuda Kazutoshi - Eisaagashira lyric

  • Jul. 18th, 2008 at 2:45 PM
Finally, I can READ all the kanji in this song in uchinaguchi! I believe there are still mistakes in the romaji version, but I don’t know which words. Like this song for its beat and lyrics that tells how Chatan village men and women practicing Eisa for the coming of Obon. Is this song popular in Okinawa mainland?

Anyway, Eisagashira itself is like signature song of eisa troupee Jagaru Seinenkai. To hear the song and see the performance, just access the link below.
